PAGASA: Caloy weakens to a low pressure area
Tropical Depression Caloy weakened into a low pressure area as it made landfall in Surigao del Sur on Saturday afternoon, PAGASA said in its 5 p.m. weather bulletin.
Because of this development, public storm warning signals have been lifted.
PAGASA also said that Eastern Visayas and Caraga will continue to have cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms. Residents were warned of possible flash floods and landslides.
Fishermen were also advised by the agency not to venture out into the seaboards of Northern Luzon and the eastern seaboards of Luzon and the Visayas.
In a previous report, GMA resident meteorologist Nathaniel "Mang Tani" Cruz said that the weather disturbance may pass through Palawan as it exits the country. — Kim Luces/VC, GMA News
