Unveiling of Mayor Francisco Gonzalez GNSHI marker

August 29, 2014
GNSHI
10 am to 12 am

Post by Gigaquit.

Excerpt from Maam Clarissa Gonzalez Rama . . .

Unveiling of papa's marker

The highlight of my trip to my hometown was to fulfill my lifelong dream of erecting a marker in honor of papa who founded the first public high school in 1969. Before that, it was only my alma mater-St. Augustine Institute which is a private school with full tuition fee. When he was a mayor, he fought to get the coveted award to have the school established in our town. I wanted him not to be forgotten by the future generations. My heartfelt thanks to LGW-Lumad Gigaquitnon Worldwide-that made it possible especially Ross Digol, Mar Recentes , Lilith Larong our US coordinator, the rest of the members of the committee and all the donors. My late sister Sylvia's hubby who generously contributed to the construction of the marker and improvement of the plaza came as well as my brother, Tato. Although not too many people showed up as it was the day after the fiesta aside from the weather that's extremely hot and humid plus it was almost 11 in the  morning, but I was happy that our mission was finally accomplished.I would like to thank our generous cousin,Mana Grace Roa Gonzalez and hubby, Sonny Gonzalez for their generous accommodation of their house for the venue of the party and the most comfortable stay at "Hotel Grace".
